Goals for the Project
In 2023, Western announced that we would be changing our Learning Management System (LMS) from Sakai to Brightspace. To support this migration, we worked collaboratively with Western Technology Services, the Centre for Teaching and Learning, and the Office of the Provost to create a video announcing the change to the Western community.
How Did We Achieve the Project Goals?
The ITRC was involved in this project from start to finish, from creating the initial storyboards to completing the final edits. We coordinated filming to include several key voices in the migration project, and we produced additional graphics and animations to help explain what to expect in the change. We worked carefully with the communications team to adapt the final video to best suit a variety of communication channels, including mass emails, news articles, and social media platforms.
