Goals for the Project
The Department of Mathematics hosts an annual competition, the Western Math Exposition Competition, which aims to foster interest in higher mathematics among high school students. Interested students work in teams to produce and submit a poster, video, or artifact about their area of interest.
How Did We Achieve the Project Goals?
In collaboration with Asghar Ghorbanpour, and in preparation for the 2024 competition, the ITRC produced an introductory video for interested students. This video combined footage of students within the Department of Math with custom animations to explain the parameters of the competition and to set up future competitors for success.
