Student Consultants

ITRC Student Consultants work as part of a team of support specialists responsible for providing advice and assistance to faculty interested in integrating technology into their courses.

ITRC student consultants provide in-person support to Western faculty and staff. Student consultants also work with faculty members to create technology-enhanced or technology-based online instructional materials. Projects may require the use of images, sound, animation, video, programming, and a variety of web-based applications.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled full-time in an undergraduate program at Western;
  • Experience in
    • web design;
    • the creation of online multimedia including images, sound and video;
    • the use of several operating systems and application software;
  • good problem solving skills;
  • excellent communication skills;
  • demonstrated customer service skills;
  • the ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.

Experience with OWL, Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, use of a video camera and video creation software, as well as other multimedia software, and programming is an asset.
